Job Description:Aircraft Structures Engineer
As an aircraft structures engineer with a specialty in composite structure design you must be familiar with composite design, construction, reliability and mass production manufacturing. You will have at least a Bachelor s of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with work experience in detailed design, analysis, manufacturing and test.
Required
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
4 years relevant work experience, including designing aircraft structures.
Familiarity with hands-on composite layup.
Experience analyzing composite structures.
Experience analyzing aircraft structures.
Experience testing aircraft structures.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience in aeroelastic analysis of high aspect ratio aircraft
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to details; ability and commitment to produce a timely and highly accurate work product.
15 years relevant work experience, including designing aircraft structures.
Responsibilities:
Design, analyze and manufacture a plethora of aircraft components.
Balance weight, manufacturability and cost of these aircraft components.
Ensure prototype parts are produced and tested in a rapid manner.
Write detailed work instruction for production parts.
Follow and enforce a rigorous engineering change process that will facilitate FAA certification.
Fit in with a highly energetic team.
